Breakdancing started in the very late 60's and exploded in the 70's and 80's amongst large populations of city living youth . James brownwas truly the godfather of breakdancing . Breakdance is a popular style of street dance that was created and developed as part of hip-hop culture . The dance consists of four prmary elements which are Toprock , Footwork , Freeze , andPower moves . Battles are dance competitions between two individuals or two groups of dances who try to out-dance each other .
